Spring Works Utah Inc.

Spring Works Utah has a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction. In 2004, we achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification which has since updated to ISO 9001:2015. Then in 2012, we achieved our goal of a higher quality aerospace certification when we implemented changes to achieve AS9100C through a federal grant and partnership with the Utah Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). That standard is since updated to the current AS9100D standard.

We are also DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement) and ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant upon request. DFARS requires certain goods to be manufactured in the United States in order to avoid dependence on foreign manufacturers. ROHS restricts the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic devices that may endanger people and/or the environment.

We can also manufacture parts that conform to the regulations of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms), NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), Cobalt 60 Radioactive Declaration, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical Substances), and the US Conflict Minerals Law.

REACH Compliant

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Union regulation dated 18 December 2006. REACH addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment.

DFARS Compliant

The Federal Acquisition Regulations System is es tablished for the codification and of uniform policies and procedures for acquisition of all executive agencies. The Acquisition Regulations System consists of the Federa l Acquisition Regulation (FAR) the primary document, and agency acquisition regulations that implement or supplement the FAR.

RoHS Compliant

The RoHS directive aims to restrict certain dangerous substances commonly used in electronic and electronic equipment. Any RoHS compliant component is tested for the presence of Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent chromium (Hex-Cr), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

AS9100D Aerospace Certified QMS

AS9100D is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. It was released in October, 1999, by the Society of Automotive Engineers and the European Association of Aerospace Industries. AS9100 replaces the earlier AS9000 and fully incorporates the entirety of the current version of ISO 9000, while adding requirements relating to quality and safety.

ITAR Compliant

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) control the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). These regulations implement the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), and are described in Title 22 (Foreign Relations), Chapter I (Department of State), Subchapter M of the Code of Federal Regulations.

ISO 9001:2015 Spring Manufacturer

The ISO 9000 family of quality management systems standards is designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product. ISO 9000 deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems, including the eight management principles upon which the family of standards is based.

COBALT 60 Compliant

Through documentation received and being kept on file from our Stainless Steel vendors, the Stainless Steel Wire and Strip products manufactured by Spring Works Utah are confirmed as being free of excessive radioactive contamination.

NAFTA Compliant

North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) established a free-trade zone in North America; it was signed in 1992 by Canada, Mexico, and the United States and took effect on Jan. 1, 1994. NAFTA immediately lifted tariffs on the majority of goods produced by the signatory nations.
